Privacy Policy

Gremlin uses Discord information to run its games and remember your progress. We do not sell your personal data. This notice covers gremlin.exe and gremlin.wntrdice.com, not the separate wntrdice shop or other services.

1. Who is responsible

T. Winter, operating under the wntrdice brand, is responsible for the personal data processed to operate Gremlin. For support, privacy questions or data requests, email info@wntrdice.com.

2. Information we use

Discord supplies the bot with events and messages it has permission to receive. Relevant messages are used for commands and game features; Gremlin is not designed as a general archive of server conversations. The website currently has no sign-in, payment form, advertising tracker or third-party analytics script. We do not use Discord content to train AI models.

3. Why we use it

We use this information to provide requested games and profiles, identify participants, display game images, save and restore progress, award rewards, prevent duplicate claims and abuse, respond to support requests, and keep the service reliable and secure.

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, our legal bases are providing the service you request under the Terms of Service, our legitimate interests in secure and reliable operation and handling support, and compliance with legal obligations where applicable. If an optional activity requires consent, we will ask for it separately. Essential information is needed to provide the relevant feature; you can choose not to use that feature.

4. Who can see it

Game messages, usernames, avatar portraits, selected profile information, records and fictional social-game content may be visible to people who can access the relevant Discord channel or feature. Server staff manage their own channel permissions and messages.

Discord provides the platform; Oracle Cloud hosts the bot and its saved data; Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. Our email provider handles messages you send to our contact address. The operator and authorised technical support may access information where necessary to run, troubleshoot or protect Gremlin. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

These providers may process information in countries outside your own. International processing is subject to the applicable provider terms and legally required transfer safeguards. Further information is available in the privacy information provided by Discord, Cloudflare and Oracle.

5. Cookies and payments

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Cloudflare may use essential security technologies or cookies. Visiting a linked service makes that service’s own privacy information relevant.

No payments are currently accepted through this website. If payment features are introduced, this notice will be updated before they go live.

6. How long information is kept

Active-game data is kept to run and recover open games; the current recovery files are updated as games change. Persistent statistics, inventories, reward receipts and fictional social-game records are kept to maintain those ongoing features, subject to valid deletion requests and any necessary legal or security retention.

There is currently no fixed automatic expiry for historical game/profile records or manually created recovery backups. Backups can contain older game data and require separate handling when a deletion request is fulfilled. We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and remove or anonymise information when it is no longer needed. Removing Gremlin from a server does not by itself erase shared player records. Provider-held technical data and copies of Discord messages are governed by the relevant provider’s retention practices.

7. Your choices and rights

You can stop using Gremlin, change the profile options available to you, and ask server staff to manage channel content or bot permissions. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent where consent is used. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Send requests to info@wntrdice.com, ideally with your Discord user ID and the feature concerned. We may ask you to confirm ownership from your Discord account and will request only information reasonably necessary to handle the request. Never send passwords or Discord tokens. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, normally one month where the GDPR applies. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or claims; we will explain any applicable limits. We cannot directly erase copies independently held by Discord, other users or server administrators.

8. Children, security and updates

Gremlin is not intended for anyone below Discord’s minimum age or a higher minimum required in their country. Please contact us if you believe an underage user’s data has been collected. We use access controls and reasonable technical measures to protect information, but no online service can promise complete security. Game outcomes and fictional social features do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about people.

We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice or seek consent where legally required. The effective date is shown above.
